The Sole Collector team was perfectly happy with how each model in the series of NikeTown event collaborations came out, as all five cities featured detailed and rich stories with great materials and colorways.
And then Nike surprised those who competed at each event with a gift that was tough to top. A premium Dunk Low incorporating hits of maroon and pink that linked to the Vegas Finals Dunk High, with the date of the Finals stitched in along the heel.
"After the Vegas Finals, as a thank you to the staff, friends and competitors, Nike did a special version of the Dunk Low with black premium leather and the same maroon midsole and pink outsole," remembers Retrokid. "They actually dated them with 7.22.06 and had the sneakerhead logo on the side. There's only 50 pairs of those, and they gave all of the competitors a pair, and some people at Nike and the staff at Sole Collector got a pair. It was just a really nice gesture from Nike to wrap up the whole collaboration."
