While we're pretty much aware of what all the basketball brands haved lined up for the 2011-2012 season, things have been quiet on the Converse front. It won't stay that way for long, as the brand is preparing to launch two new basketball silhouettes this November. In additon to a revamped version of the Pro Leather, Converse will drop the DEFCON, pictured here in two Player Exclusive colorways made for Philadelphia 76ers guard Lou Williams.
The DEFCON is a lightweight performance sneaker that utilizes Converse's ConTain Fit Technology in a single integrated piece with a direct-inject EVA foam cage. Other tech features include an EVA foam strobel board beneath the sockliner, Converse Balls cushioning, a ghillie lacing system, 3D molded TPU counter, anatomical collar and a forefoot outrigger to sustain balance.
On the design side, you have traditional Star Chevron branding on an aerodynamic upper coated with a glossy-textured finish for an attention-grabbing look. Patent leather hits provide a sleek contrast to the foam upper, while a Y-Bar is featured in the EVA foam cage.
Look for the Converse DEFCON to hit retailers like Eastbay on November 15th. Retail will be $90.
Read on for a look at Lou Williams' DEFCON PEs (and a black-on-black pair), one of which he wore in this past Sunday's win in the Battle for I-95.
