While Dwight Howard is waiting for his delivery of size 18 Laker-themed adidas adiPower Howard 3 PEs, this new "Blackout" colorway may be one he considers when rehabbing his back for the upcoming season. Unlike previous colorways we've seen, this pair features smooth leather trim along the collar and eyestay, while adding the unique lasered pattern to the side panels and toebox. Translucent Stripes flank the silhouette and a black outsole wraps up the look below.

The "Blackout" Howard 3 has started hitting retail in China. No word on when we can expect to see them drop stateside, but we'll keep you posted here at Sole Collector.

The aph series has always been well built, with exceptional durability, lockdown, and surprisingly versatile performance. The shoe plays well for all positions believe it or not. The alive cushioning system is definitely something to experience as well. I do care for these a little bit more than the aph2 with respect to the overall aesthetic. Still, my favorite Howard's are the Beast Commanders (pure motion).

All in all, throughout the history of the line, the shoes have always looked mean and aggressive. Frankly, that captures Howard's physical, forceful style of play better. Needless to say, insert a max bag, some dynamic flywire, and a south beach theme while hiding the branding and it would make for a great little social experiment.
