After hitting you with the release date about a month ago, we finally have a fresh detailed look at the upcoming "Johnny Kilroy" Air Jordan Retro 9. Inspired by the alter-ego Michael Jordan took on for the Air Jordan IX campaign during his '93 retirement, the shoe sports a black nubuck upper with a platinum tumbled leather mudguard. Platinum also works the plastic eyelets and trim along the upper part of the tongue, while red takes care of the inner lining and pull-tab. Below sits a platinum midsole and black rubber outsole.

The retro also features several unique elements, such as "Johnny Kilroy" across the tongue, "Kilroy Kicks Butt" stitched on the back of the tongue and printed along the insoles and the number "4" embroidered on the heel.

Retailers will be carrying the "Johnny Kilroy" Air Jordan Retro 9 for $160 on Saturday, October 6.

That's a nice touch to the RETRO IX. When MJ retired he played baseball and the Barons were black and silver maybe that's where the colors came from.
