The NBA has seen its share of rivalries through the years, and certainly this ongoing Heat and Pacers series hardly qualifies among the all-time greats.
But there's been a ton of technical fouls, rough flagrants and suspensions along the way, and what somehow over time became a huge sign of disrespect -- even a choking sign. So it kind of maybe counts as something.
One thing not of course mentioned by game commentators during this battle between two teams is the odd footwear choice of Pacers guard George Hill.
He's been wearing LeBron's signature Nike LeBron 9 all series long.
It's not an entirely new occurrence, as we've seen Rajon Rondo wear the Kobe VI against the Lakers, and Thabo Sefolosha would even wear Kobe models when guarding Kobe himself. When you consider that Pat Riley used to ban wearing Air Jordans against the Bulls, it just seems a bit odd.
With all that's on the line as both the Heat and the Pacers look to advance to the conference finals, does it strike you as weird that Hill is in the "Freegums" LeBron 9? Or should it just not matter at all?
