What a difference four years makes. In 2008, Michael Phelps cemented himself as the most dominant swimmer in the sport by capturing a record eight Gold Medals at the Olympic Games in Beijing. At the time, fellow American Ryan Lochte was a worthy runner-up to Phelps' greatness, but few believed he'd ever be able to overtake him as the best in the game. In 2012, Lochte isn't only an improved swimmer, but he's beating Phelps in events. Many believe the 27-year old New Yorker will outperform Phelps this summer in London. Will a new King of Swimming be crowned?
At the Olympic Trials this past week, where Lochte topped Phelps in multiple events, the United States' new swimming favorite hit the podium wearing the "Stars & Stripes" adidas JS Wings 2.0. Hard to think of a better time to break out a pair of these Jeremy Scott designed kicks than when you're gearing up for international competition. Read on for another look at Lochte in Wings.
