In the spirit of the Olympic Track and Field events we are back again this week with another Nike Running ad, this time with a good look at a few Nike track and field shoes from 1993.
Here we see "The blurry things on the Kenyans' feet", referencing the always talented and dominant Kenyan runners. Even though there are no shoes here that can be worn casually, which is what most of us sneaker collectors are looking for, it's still interesting to look at designs for the functional track and field footwear. Eye catching neon colors on track and field shoes have long been a trend and we see some of the early influencers like the bright colorways of the Zoom V, and Zoom Rival. Elsewhere on the page are shoes like the Zoom Glide designed for shot put and the awesome mid-top Zoom Javelin.
Would you serious collectors like to add any of these to your collections?
(By the way, "Zoom" in the names of the shoes does not refer to Zoom Air, which was not around in 1993.)
